Opiyo Wandayi: NCCK Condemns Ruto Over Luo Leaders in Top Posts

Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has expressed concern over the recent surge of criticism aimed at the government by various organizations, including NGOs, civil society, and the church.

Wandayi, a former ODM MP and previously a critic of President William Ruto’s administration, noted that these groups were silent prior to the establishment of the current inclusive government.

The CS accused them of participating in a conspiracy due to their recent engagement in political affairs, casting doubt on their intentions.

“Now that the Luo community is becoming more involved in government, the administration is suddenly portrayed as negative. Even organizations like NGOs, civil societies, and the church, such as NCCK, are raising their voices.

“This has become a clear conspiracy, and we can perceive it,” he commented.

The outspoken Cabinet secretary underscored that advocating for the rights of Kenyans is achievable while serving in the government.

“We can continue supporting the rights of people from within the government.

“It is not wrong for a Luo to hold a position in government. We will not accept this narrative. Whenever Luos are seen protesting in the streets, the government is viewed positively. We are not naïve,” he asserted.
