ODM MP Threatens to Remove Sifuna From His Secretary General Role.

Exclusive

“Please communicate the true party position or we sack you, with immediate effect.”

Peter Kaluma, a member of the Homa Bay Town Parliament, has criticized ODM Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna for disseminating false information. On Tuesday, July 23, Kaluma issued a statement via X stating that the Nairobi Senator’s statement was not the issue resolved at the most recent ODM meeting.

In order to avoid being removed from the position of secretary general, Kaluma instructed Sifuna to communicate the true party position. The ODM party did not resolve this at the previous meeting.

Kaluma said, “Please communicate the true party position or we will sack you immediately.” The ODM party is experiencing tension as a result of President William Ruto’s proposed broad-based government.

President Ruto reportedly offered Raila Odinga several Cabinet slots, which appears to have divided Orange party leaders. Sifuna denied earlier reports that the party was discussing forming a government of national unity with President William Ruto in a statement.

He slammed a group of ODM members who claimed to be contacting the leadership of the Kenya Kwanza government to inquire about cabinet positions.

Sifuna stated, “Some of our members have also fallen for the campaign of lies and misinterpreted our stance as a license to engage the Kenya Kwanza leadership and canvass for ministerial and/or other positions in the Ruto government.”

“Some of our members have also fallen for the campaign of lies.” According to the Nairobi Senator, any ODM member wishing to join the cabinet will be doing so without the party’s approval or support.

Sifuna went on to say, “Any ODM member who makes themselves available to join the Kenya Kwanza cabinet or any other position should know that they do so without the party’s blessing or support.”
