In a stunning declaration that has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has essentially called the 2027 presidential race before it even begins—William Ruto is all but guaranteed a second term!
Speaking at the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in Malindi on Sunday, March 30, 2025, Mudavadi left no room for doubt. With years of political experience under his belt, he delivered an unsettling message: defeating Ruto in the next election is a near-impossible task.
“I have been in this game for a long time. I’ve watched, I’ve analyzed, and let me tell you—taking down William Ruto in 2027 is going to be a Herculean challenge,” Mudavadi declared.
While acknowledging that political debates are inevitable, he warned that opposition efforts to oust Ruto are nothing more than wishful thinking.
“People can talk all they want, but let’s face reality—it’s going to be an uphill battle,” he emphasized.
Mudavadi pointed out a brutal truth: Ruto and Raila Odinga have forged a powerhouse coalition that has effectively shut the door on any serious competition.
“They have locked hands in a formidable alliance, yet some still fantasize about defeating them,” he remarked, almost incredulously.

Karua Vows to Dismantle Ruto’s Reign—No Matter the Cost
Meanwhile, opposition heavyweight Martha Karua is rallying forces for what she calls a battle to “liberate Kenya” from Ruto’s rule. Speaking on Monday, February 24, 2025, Karua made it clear: she’s ready to fight, and she’s willing to unite with anyone who shares the mission.
Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Rigathi Gachagua, Fred Matiang’i—she wants them all in a single, unstoppable force against the government.
“There is a real opportunity here. My party stands for ‘Unite, Liberate.’ That is our mission. Any leader who sees the need for change is welcome to this cause,” Karua declared with conviction.
However, she issued a bold challenge to all opposition leaders: this fight isn’t about personal ambition—it’s about saving Kenya.
“Let everyone step up. I already have. But Kenya is bigger than any of us. We must be prepared to rally behind one candidate,” she urged.
And in a shocking twist, Karua admitted she’s even willing to step aside if that’s what it takes to crush Ruto’s rule.
“Is my personal ambition worth sacrificing Kenya’s future? No. The priority is to bring down this illegitimate government—just like we did in 2002,” she concluded.
