Mt. Kenya Political FIRESTORM: Gachagua’s Ouster IGNITES Betrayal Claims, Ruto UNDER FIRE!

Embakasi North MP James Gakuya has set off a political bombshell, declaring that despite his removal, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua still reigns supreme in the Mt. Kenya region. According to Gakuya, President Ruto’s decision to cast Gachagua aside has sent shockwaves through the vote-rich region, fueling resentment and rebellion.

“The truth is, Ruto is losing sleep because Mt. Kenya feels deceived,” Gakuya said in a fiery interview on March 18, 2025. He painted a grim picture of a region boiling with frustration, claiming that Gachagua commands a staggering 80% of Mt. Kenya’s loyalty.

The betrayal runs deep, Gakuya asserted, with voters outraged that one of their own was politically executed. He accused Ruto of orchestrating a ruthless purge, wiping out Gachagua’s influence in a calculated move. “That purge has left a wound that won’t heal,” he added, hinting at growing discontent among lawmakers once loyal to the President.

THREATS, INTIMIDATION & A FALLEN DEPUTY

In a separate explosive revelation, Gachagua himself has accused Ruto of using threats and backroom deals to silence him before his dramatic impeachment in October 2024. He claimed that from the early days of their administration, Ruto wielded his power to keep him in check, even allegedly warning that he could “buy off MPs and Senators” to have him removed.

“When I exposed wrongdoing, Ruto threatened me. He reminded me that he picked me despite opposition and could have me impeached at any time,” Gachagua alleged.

THE ULTIMATE REVENGE? MT. KENYA VOTERS READY TO PUNISH RUTO LOYALISTS

Gachagua has now declared open war against Ruto, warning that any leader supporting the President will be politically wiped out in Mt. Kenya. Speaking on February 9, he revealed that his people have forgiven him for backing Ruto in 2022 but are now demanding vengeance against those still loyal to the government.

“My people say betrayal will not be tolerated. If you stand with Ruto, you will be sent home,” he warned.

Gachagua further announced his next move—forging powerful alliances beyond Mt. Kenya. He is now reaching out to other communities, including the Akamba and the Abagusii, in a bid to rebuild his political empire.

“I was fooled by Ruto, but my people have forgiven me. They have sent me to form new alliances. Other communities now see us as people of integrity,” he declared.

As tensions reach a boiling point, one thing is clear—Mt. Kenya’s political war is far from over. Will Ruto survive the rebellion, or is Gachagua plotting the ultimate comeback?
