Multi-Agency Security Team Conducts Raids on Militia Camps in Marsabit – Discover What Was Found in Secret Hideouts
The newly initiated Operation Ondoa Jangili commenced successfully as the Multi-Agency Security team in Marsabit targeted Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) hideouts in Sololo and Merti Sub-Counties.
The operation resulted in the seizure of various items, including weapons and ammunition, walkie-talkies, camera stands, a solar panel, a generator, and marijuana, among others, believed to be utilized by the militia for their illegal activities.
The militia group has exploited close familial and cultural ties between the Borana of Kenya and the Oromo of Ethiopia to infiltrate and conceal themselves within the community, perpetuating atrocities that have inflicted significant suffering.
These recoveries signify the start of ongoing efforts to eradicate criminal elements from the region, reinforcing the National Police Service’s unwavering dedication to protecting lives and property while creating a secure environment for local communities.
