Kigame Provokes Ruto, Calls for Coffin Illustrations

Reuben Kigame Challenges Ruto, Encourages Cartoonists to Depict Him in a Coffin

In a surprising declaration, former presidential candidate Reuben Kigame has invited cartoonists nationwide to portray him in a casket, similar to depictions of President William Ruto.

Kigame stated that such illustrations would not lead to his demise, contrary to Ruto’s fears. He criticized the notion that one could be abducted for sharing an image of someone in a coffin.

“To illustrate the absurdity of abducting our youth over casket cartoons, I encourage every cartoonist to portray me in a coffin. It will not harm me. It is akin to calling me a dog and expecting that the sound of your voice will transform me,” Kigame remarked.

His comments follow former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s inquiry into why anyone would fear seeing their likeness in a coffin. Gachagua asserted that such portrayals should not warrant the abduction of those who create them, emphasizing that they do not imply real death.

Recently, Ruto accused certain politicians of financing the youth responsible for these coffin images. He warned young people against being manipulated by politicians to spread such content on social media, arguing that these depictions could lead to harmful behaviors.
