Kalonzo Alleges Shocking Plot to Arrest Governor Natembeya and MP Salasya in Kenya Power Struggle.

Kenya is on edge as explosive claims surface over a high-level plan to disgrace a sitting governor.

In a fiery address on Sunday, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka dropped a political bombshell in Machakos, alleging a covert mission to “capture and humiliate” Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya. The operation, Kalonzo claims, is set to unfold Monday, May 19, under the guise of a corruption probe.

With dramatic urgency, Kalonzo revealed that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) had already obtained a search warrant for the governor’s residence. He warned Kenyans to brace for a “politically choreographed arrest” aimed at breaking Natembeya’s spirit and destroying his image.

“They want to storm his home, arrest him like a criminal, then release him just to taint his name,” Kalonzo stated, visibly outraged.

He didn’t mince words, suggesting the EACC had become a tool for settling political scores.

“If you’re a governor and refuse to dance to the tune of top leadership, they send the EACC after you,” he warned. “But this commission must not be weaponized!”

Governor Natembeya, a bold and sometimes controversial figure, has faced growing heat in recent months. Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has called for his impeachment, accusing him of stoking tribal divisions, mismanaging county affairs, and engaging in corrupt dealings.

Cherargei insists the governor’s actions violate multiple sections of Kenya’s 2010 Constitution, including Articles 10 and 73, which govern leadership ethics and public trust.

“He has failed the people of Trans Nzoia,” the senator declared. “Impeachment is long overdue.”

But Natembeya isn’t backing down. In a heated response issued on Friday, April 18, he dismissed Cherargei’s attacks as political meddling.

“Why is a senator from Nandi so obsessed with Trans Nzoia? He should focus on his own county,” Natembeya retorted. “Last I checked, he was dragging Murkomen to court. He needs to calm down.”

As tensions escalate, Kalonzo also turned the spotlight on yet another unfolding drama this time involving outspoken Mumias East MP, Peter Salasya.

According to Kalonzo, Salasya was abruptly arrested by DCI officers along the Isiolo-Nanyuki highway shortly after delivering a fiery public speech on Friday, May 16. The MP, who recently announced his presidential ambitions, is allegedly being detained at Nairobi Central Police Station with no formal charges.

“Salasya is behind bars simply for speaking his mind. This is a threat to free speech, and it should terrify every Kenyan,” Kalonzo declared.

As Kenya watches these developments unfold, questions abound: Is this justice or political persecution? Will Governor Natembeya be taken down? And is free expression under attack?

The storm is brewing and Kenyans are watching.
