Gachagua Explodes — Accuses Ruto of Taking Advice from “Uneducated” Sudi and Farouk as Education Funds Are Diverted to Bribes.

In a shocking political development that has sent ripples through Kenya’s power corridors, Democracy for the Citizens Party(DCP) Leader Rigathi Gachagua has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, accusing him of surrendering national decision-making to two “uneducated” advisors — Oscar Sudi and Farouk Kibet.

Addressing supporters at a charged DCP rally abroad this morning, Gachagua declared, “This country is being run by brokers. President Ruto is no longer listening to professionals or the people — he is taking advice from two men with no formal education, and they are the ones misleading him.”

The former deputy president did not hold back, naming Oscar Sudi, a Kapseret MP with a history of controversy, and Farouk Kibet, a close aide to the president, as the individuals allegedly driving Ruto’s most alarming decisions — including the diversion of critical education funds.

“They are calling it ‘empowerment programs,’ but we all know what it is — bribery. They are misusing public money, meant for our children’s future, to buy political loyalty,” Gachagua charged.

Gachagua Links Kindiki and MPs to Scandal

Even more startling was Gachagua’s direct accusation against Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who he claims is actively involved in what he termed a “systematic looting scheme” masquerading as development.

“Kindiki and several Members of Parliament are part of this daylight robbery. They are packaging theft as empowerment. This is theft of opportunity, theft of education, and theft of the next generation’s hope,” he said, as the crowd erupted in chants.

He warned that if left unchecked, the trend could collapse the national education system, as bursary and infrastructure funds are quietly siphoned to fuel political mobilization.

Empowerment or Entrenchment?

The so-called “empowerment programs” have recently come under scrutiny for their lack of transparency, with millions of shillings disbursed in public rallies without clear accounting mechanisms. Gachagua alleges the programs are being used to entrench political patronage, especially in regions seen as politically restless.

“We have millions of youth who can’t afford school fees. Meanwhile, these men are giving handouts in shopping centers to buy applause. That is not governance. That is political decay.”

Silence from State House

Neither President Ruto, Deputy President Kindiki, Oscar Sudi, nor Farouk Kibet have issued a formal response to the explosive allegations. However, insiders at State House have described the accusations as “wild” and “desperate,” suggesting the DCP leader is seeking relevance.

But Gachagua dismissed that notion in his speech.

“This is not about relevance. This is about resistance. We must resist the hijacking of our government by conmen in designer suits.”

A Brewing Storm?

Political analysts believe this latest outburst could signal a deepening rift within Kenya Kwanza, and potentially ignite a full-blown rebellion in the ruling coalition as cracks widen between former allies.

“What Gachagua is doing is tearing off the veil — he’s publicly exposing what many within government circles whisper privately,” said political analyst Nancy Kemboi.

With mounting public concern over ballooning public debt, stalled CBC implementation, and university funding crises, Gachagua’s attack could galvanize growing dissatisfaction among citizens — especially the youth — who feel abandoned by the current administration.
