Education PS Bitok Orders Arrest of Alliance Girls Teacher Amid Sexual Abuse Exposé.

Education Principal Secretary Prof. Julius Bitok has escalated the scandal engulfing Alliance Girls High School by mandating the immediate arrest and prosecution of a teacher accused of grooming and sexually abusing students.

Bitok, speaking at a thanksgiving gathering in Nandi County, revealed that the Ministry of Education, in coordination with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), has moved swiftly to ensure the implicated teacher is interdicted, formally charged, and held accountable.

“This behaviour will not be tolerated,” Bitok warned, emphasizing that the case marks a new zero-tolerance policy for any form of sexual misconduct within institutions. “We are not going to condone any behaviour where teachers or any other stakeholder in schools take advantage of our children,” he stated.

The action follows a harrowing Africa Uncensored investigation that claims the long-serving teacher, who once led the school’s Christian Union, groomed pupils over years through emotional manipulation, spiritual coercion, and secretive dinners beginning as early as 2018.

Alumni Demand Justice, Police Called In

Haunted by the allegations, a group of former Alliance Girls students staged a peaceful demonstration outside the school gate, calling for the teacher’s immediate interdiction and accountability. These protests, while peaceful, triggered the deployment of security forces to maintain order, underscoring the volatile atmosphere .

FIDA-Kenya has joined the chorus of outrage, condemning the alleged abuse as a systemic failure and urging the Board of Management and Ministry to take urgent action. The rights group has promised legal and emotional support to survivors while demanding clear policies be instituted across all schools .

Government Shifts Gear

In a marked departure from past complacency, the Education Ministry is now executing decisive steps: collaborating with TSC to enforce interdiction; pressing the DCI to arrest and charge the teacher; and implementing nationwide protocols to protect learners.

Bitok made a resolute stance: “That teacher is going to be punished,” he said, extending a stern warning that this case is not unique to one institution but emblematic of broader systemic issues to be eradicated.

National Repercussions

What initially emerged as an isolated exposé has evolved into a national movement demanding sweeping reforms. Bitok’s active intervention pivots the crisis from media outrage to formal judicial process. The Ministry is now expected to lay charges, carry out investigations, and prioritize child safety across Kenyan schools.

As authorities prepare to bring the accused teacher before court, the nation watches closely. The outcome could shape policies on safeguarding minors in learning environments and send a powerful signal to educators everywhere.
