Panic has gripped Juja town after local Member of Parliament George Koimburi mysteriously disappeared on Friday in what witnesses describe as a “terrifying daylight abduction.”
According to multiple eyewitness accounts, chaos erupted at Gachororo Primary School moments after the MP finished awarding scholarships. A group believed to be plain-clothed security agents allegedly confronted Koimburi, sparking a dramatic car chase through Juja streets.
Sources say the MP fled the scene on a motorcycle in a desperate bid to evade capture. His official vehicle was intercepted, and his driver was taken into custody and later released from DCI headquarters late Friday evening.
Now, lawyers representing Koimburi are sounding the alarm, calling the operation not just illegal, but an outright violation of a court order. According to them, Koimburi had secured legal protection from arrest earlier this year after facing fraud charges at the Kiambu Law Courts in February.

“This is a blatant breach of justice. The police have ignored court orders, and we believe this is politically orchestrated,” said one of Koimburi’s lawyers.
The silence from security agencies has only intensified public anger. Tension boiled over at Juja Farm, where hundreds had gathered expecting Koimburi to preside over a bursary disbursement. Instead, they were met with frustration and fury.
Residents accuse the county and national government of using state power to suppress opposition voices.
“They want to silence anyone who speaks the truth. But we will not back down,” said a resident at the protest.
As uncertainty grows, Juja is now on edge — with no clear word on the MP’s whereabouts, a community left in the dark, and rising fears of escalating political repression.
Where is George Koimburi? That question now haunts a nation that has seen far too many disappearances and far too few answers.
