Cabinet Secretaries Tuya, Jumwa, and Chelugui Thank Ruto for Appointing Them After Cabinet’s Dissolution.

Taking to her Twitter account hours after the head of state dissolved the entire cabinet save for the office of Prime CS and Foreign Affairs, Tuya lauded the move stating that it was in the good interest of Kenyans who have been pushing for government reforms.

“Anything that paves the way for the best interest of our Nation, at this point, is preeminent. 

I most sincerely thank H.E. The President for the privilege, honour, and opportunity to serve my country at the helm of the Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry docket, for the last 21 months. 

My heart is full of gratitude.”Similarly, Aisha Jumwa who formerly served as the CS in the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage expressed her gratitude to the President for honoring her with the docket for the past 21 months.

“I am glad that I got the chance to serve the people of our great nation. Thank you Mr. President and I wish you well.”

Simon Chelugui, Ex-Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Cooperatives and MSME Development, other than thanking the head of state, also seized his time to thank Kenyans and all stakeholders in the Co-operative(Saccos, societies, housing, transport and investment) and MSME sectors for their great support.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank His Excellency President Dr William Ruto for showing great trust and faith in me, and entrusting me with the job and responsibility to serve at the highest decision-making body of the Republic of Kenya as the Cabinet Secretary.”

Former Defence CS Aden Duale, on his part, commended Ruto following his bold decision to overhaul his Cabinet.Through his X account, the former CS lauded the Head of State for the opportunity Ruto granted him to serve as the first Defence CS under the Kenya Kwanza regime.

This comes days after Ruto withdrew the controversial bill hinting at austerity measures towards good governance.

He declared radical changes including dissolving various entities to accommodate demands by the youth to reorganize his government.

The head of state explained that the move would see to it that austerity measures are taken by the government.He suspended the appointment of 50 Chief Cabinet Secretaries and reduced government advisors by 50 per cent. This saw advisors across all the 21 Ministries reduced.

He also later scrapped the budgetary allocation of First Lady Rachael Ruto and Deputy President’s wife, Dorcas Rigathi whose offices will no longer enjoy State funding.
