Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Babu Owino has indicated that the Monday discussion between President William Ruto and his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, shows they “deceived” former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during the 2022 presidential election.
Immediately following Raila Odinga’s defeat in the 2022 presidential race, Babu Owino was among the leading ODM figures who claimed Uhuru was not genuinely backing Jakom’s campaign and labeled it a ‘long con. ’
Babu, recognized for his incisive remarks and candid observations, interpreted Monday’s meeting as proof that Raila was “deceived” ahead of the 2022 elections.
“I simply don’t understand why I was born this smart. When I inform you that your wife is expecting, just start purchasing diapers, don’t inquire how I know,” Babu Owino remarked.
Ruto met with Uhuru at the latter’s residence in Gatundu. They covered multiple topics, including the discussion on restructuring the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The two national leaders also talked about concerns regarding political stability and inclusivity within the nation.
