Authorities seeking a 25-year-old man suspected of killing his 19-year-old wife by strangulation.

Police in Suna East, Migori County, have launched a manhunt for a 25-year-old man suspected of murdering his 19-year-old wife.

The incident, which occurred in Kadika village, reportedly stemmed from ongoing marital disputes between the couple.

Confirming the incident, Suna East Sub-County Police Commander Reuben Kemboi said the victim, Akoth Onyango, was found dead, with signs indicating she had been strangled.

Her body was discovered abandoned in a bush a few kilometers from their home, prompting an immediate investigation.

The suspect, identified as Asman Ouma, allegedly confessed to his brother, Elvis Omondi, early Tuesday morning, revealing the details of the crime and where he had disposed of the body.

Omondi, the police say, had expressed concern over his brother’s alarming intentions to take his own life following the incident.

The couple had been living together for approximately six months before this tragic event. They left their home for a walk on Tuesday evening but never returned, raising alarms among their relatives.
