All Nairobi Constituencies to Become Sub-Counties.

President William Ruto announced that all constituencies in Nairobi will transition into sub-counties to enhance administration and service delivery. This decision aims to tackle the population-related challenges faced by many Kenyans.

An example is Embakasi Sub-County having five constituencies. Interior CS Kindiki has been tasked with drafting a plan for the gazetting and management of the new sub-counties. President Ruto made the announcement during a meeting with national government administrators. He emphasized that city residents will gain from the expansion plan.

The recruitment of police and NYS personnel will consider the new sub-counties, with the goal of improving administration in Nairobi. The move will increase the number of sub-counties in Nairobi from 11 to 17, once all constituencies are converted.

Ruto highlighted the importance of efficient management in Nairobi, stating that the city has been lagging in administration. He assured that the new sub-counties will play a crucial role in addressing this issue and improving overall governance.
