Police have been granted court permission to unlock the closely guarded medical records of Juja MP George Koimburi, whose alleged abduction and torture continue to spark fierce debate and suspicion across Kenya.
Senior Principal Magistrate Robin Ondieki delivered the bombshell ruling, authorizing detectives to retrieve Koimburi’s medical documents from The Karen Hospital and Plainsview Hospital in Ruiru. The records cover the period between May 26 and May 29, 2025—days after the MP was reportedly snatched from the streets by masked assailants.
Hospitals Under Scrutiny
The move comes after police revealed that both hospitals had blocked their initial attempts to access Koimburi or his health records, raising eyebrows and triggering further alarm. According to a warrant issued by the court, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) can now “access, inspect, obtain, and seize certified copies” of all medical files related to the MP.
“A warrant do hereby issue,” reads the chilling court order, “to investigate The Karen Hospital-Nairobi and Plainsview Hospital Ruiru Branch… to enable DCI investigator Nicholas Njoroge to carry away exhibits of all health records.”
A Nation on Edge
Authorities argue that unlocking these medical details is critical to uncovering the truth behind what really happened to the legislator. With public anxiety surging amid a rise in mysterious abductions, the Koimburi saga has become more than a political matter—it’s now a national crisis.
“The outcome of this probe could have far-reaching implications,” investigators noted. “Whether this was a politically motivated hit or a dark plot by unknown forces, Kenyans deserve answers.”

Shocking Abduction in Broad Daylight
The case began on the afternoon of May 25, 2025, when a man named Peter Kiratu Mbari reported a chilling incident at Mugutha Police Station: Koimburi had just left a church service when masked men in a Subaru Forester dragged him off the street and vanished.
The daylight ambush was filmed by bystanders, and the footage quickly went viral, shaking the public and sending shockwaves through Parliament.
Koimburi was later found disoriented and injured on a coffee farm in Juja. He was first taken to Plainsview Hospital for emergency care, then transferred to The Karen Hospital.
Twist: Was the Kidnapping Staged?
In a stunning development, just days before the court ruling, four individuals linked to the saga were freed on bail after a Milimani magistrate said there was insufficient evidence to keep them locked up. Among them: Kanyenya-ini Ward MCA Grace Nduta Wairimu, along with Peter Kiratu Mbari—ironically the man who first reported the abduction—David Macharia Gatana, and Cyrus Muhia.
Each was released on either a Sh300,000 cash bail or a Sh1 million bond, under strict conditions to stay away from witnesses and report regularly to DCI investigators.
Murder Plot Suspicions
What’s more disturbing is the police theory that this entire abduction may have been a smokescreen for something darker—a plot to commit murder. The suspects were arrested amid claims the kidnapping may have been staged, possibly to cover up a premeditated crime, a violation of Section 258 of the Penal Code.
DCI had tried to keep the suspects in custody longer while awaiting direction from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
What Happens Next?
The court has scheduled the next hearing for June 5, 2025.
With the nation watching and tensions rising, all eyes are now on the investigation—will the medical records reveal the truth? Was this a case of political intimidation, a personal vendetta, or something more sinister?
The mystery of George Koimburi’s alleged kidnapping has just taken a dangerous new turn. Stay tuned.
