Breaking News: Former Nairobi PPO Anthony Kibuchi Passes Away

Former Nairobi Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Anthony Kibuchi has passed away at the age of 67. He died on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, while receiving treatment at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital in Nairobi. According to his daughter, Catherine Nyawira Kibuchi, he had been battling cancer since 2018.

Kibuchi had a distinguished career in the Kenya Police Service, serving as PPO in North Eastern, Nyanza, and Nairobi before retiring. Following his retirement, he continued to serve the community, notably being appointed chairman of the Kirinyaga County Community Policing Initiative, where he worked to address security concerns in the region .

He is remembered by friends and neighbors in Kirinyaga for his dedication to public service and his efforts to improve security in the area. Plans are underway for his funeral, with the family preparing for his burial in Ngurubani, Tebere Ward, Mwea, on Wednesday, May 21
