Kericho residents of Waldai ward in Belgut Sub- county are demanding action be taken after a large amount of hazardous medical waste was discovered dumped on the footpath.

The residents reported that the waste was thrown on a rural footpath,this raised the fears of infections and injuries among the locals.Local reports say that something like that has never happened and for it being the first time is dangerous and irresponsible.

The medical waste is suspected to be from a private health facility, investigations are to be carried out to know it’s origin.

Locals are asking Kericho County health officials to take responsibility in identifying and taking correct measures to those responsible.
