19-Year-Old Footballer Found Murdered: Investigations Underway in Siaya

Shock as 19-Year-Old Footballer Found Murdered After Visiting Girlfriend in Siaya

Detectives in Siaya County are investigating the brutal murder of a 19-year-old footballer in North West Ugenya.

George Ominde, the Assistant Chief of Karadolo West, confirmed that the teenager’s body was found in the early hours of Monday, January 3.

The young athlete had suffered multiple stab wounds, indicating a violent attack.

Authorities suspect he was killed elsewhere before his body was dumped on a local farm.

Preliminary reports reveal that the victim, identified as James Omondi Osowo, attended a football match in Rarieda sub-county on Sunday, February 2, along with a friend on a borrowed motorcycle.

Initially, police stated that James visited his girlfriend after the match, but conflicting accounts have surfaced.

Chrispine Ochieng, an official from James’ football club, disputed this claim, asserting that James was asked to transport an unknown individualpossibly his killer.

“He was just asked to ferry someone, but that person could have been his murderer,” Chrispine noted.

As police search for James’ last known companion, local residents are on edge, questioning whether sufficient measures are being taken to address the alarming increase in violent deaths in Siaya.
