Two individuals have lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Mlolongo, Machakos County.
The pair, a bodaboda rider and his female passenger, died instantly after the motorcycle they were on was struck by a truck along the old Mombasa road in Mlolongo town on Monday.
The event, which occurred around 6:00 am, was confirmed by Anderson Mbae, the police commander of Athi River East subcounty.
The incident was reported to the Mlolongo police station as a fatal road accident shortly after it took place.
“A local administrator reported that the accident involving a bodaboda rider and a truck occurred at Oilcom near the yellow flyover. The rider and his passenger died at the scene,” a source informed the Star.
Witnesses stated that the rider was transporting the woman from Mlolongo market when the accident happened.
