Ruto Gov’t: No School Entry in January Without SHA Registration

No student will be permitted in school starting January if they have not enrolled in the new health scheme, the Social Health Authority (SHA).

This is according to senior government advisor Moses Kuria, who mentioned that President William Ruto’s administration will instruct schools to refuse entry to all unregistered children to ensure that all Kenyans are enrolled in SHA.

While addressing a Homecoming Sabbath at SDA Church Ngarariga in the Bibirioni region of Limuru, Kuria emphasized that the government is aiming for complete adoption of Taifa Care and will take all necessary actions to accomplish this.

Kuria, noting the low adoption of SHA among children, disclosed a new strategy intended to alter this situation.

“If you are a parent and have registered yourself for SHA but have not registered your child, the record maintained at your child’s school will be set aside this January,” Kuria proclaimed.

“Beginning in January, we will set aside all records of children in schools. To have your child accepted back to school, you must have registered them for SHA,” he continued.

The government has established January 6, 2025, as the reopening date for schools and April 4, 2025, as the closing date.
