President William Ruto revealed plans to enroll over 200,000 youths in the environment sustainability programme. The programme will start with 20,000 youths from Nairobi in the Climate WorX Mtaani Initiative. The enrollment process for Nairobi youths begins on October 1. Other counties like Nakuru, Kisumu, Mombasa, and Uasin Gishu are also set to benefit from the initiative.
The initiative aims to provide employment opportunities aligned with the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation. Climate WorX Mtaani is a government initiative. It engages youth in environmental sustainability programs. These programs include tree planting as part of the 15 Billion National Tree Growing Programme.
