BABU OWINO mourns the death of REX MASAI who was shot dead by rogue cop during Thursday’s anti-finance bill demos in Nairobi.

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has mourned the death of Rex Kanyike Masai, who was shot dead by a rogue police officer during Thursday’s protests against the Finance Bill 2024.

Babu wondered how ironic it was that the 24-year-old died at the hands of a police officer.

“Rest in Peace Rex. This is so heartbreaking to lose a comrade in the hands of a police officer who’s supposed to protect Kenyans,” Babu wrote on his social media page.

Masai died on Thursday after he was allegedly shot by an unidentified police officer.

He was among the many protesters who had taken to the streets to reject the Finance Bill 2024. The young man was reportedly shot at dusk.

In response to the tragic news, many Kenyans expressed condolences and called for justice on social media for the young man who lost his life while exercising his constitutional right.
