The Ministry of Education has given a green light to publishers whose Grade 11 textbooks were approved for printing and distribution to public schools across the country.

The Kenya Publishers Association (KPA) said that the crucial move will now enable the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) to issue formal contracts to publishers to proceed with the production of approved teaching and learning materials.

The Grade 11 manuscripts were submitted to KICD on December 9, 2025, for evaluation and the results were released on February 10, 2026.

Publishers whose materials were approved embarked on a rigorous quality assurance process to refine content, correct errors, and ensure the required standards are met.

Production of the materials will commence in May 2026 and distribution is scheduled for October 2026, ahead of the First Term opening in January 2027.

This comes as the State strives to achieve a seamless and effective implementation of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
