President says no one should underestimate their individual power to drive meaningful change.
President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to embrace collective responsibility in transforming the country.
Ruto said no one should underestimate their individual power to drive meaningful change.
Speaking yesterday during a late-evening engagement, President Ruto acknowledged the immense demands of leadership and urged Kenyans to rise above feelings of insignificance and contribute actively to national development.
“This country depends on all of us,” he said. “Don’t underestimate what you can do as an individual in pursuit of changing our country.
The President asked Kenyans to believe that their remote location did not preclude them from bringing about national change.

“Usiseme, ‘Sasa mimi nitafanya nini, na mimi ni mtu tu mdogo wa kijiji fulani, which loosely translates to Don’t say, ‘What can I do? I am just an insignificant person from a certain village.’ You can do something about your country,” Ruto said.
The President said nation-building is not a preserve of government officials alone but a shared duty that requires unwavering commitment from every Kenyan.
“The responsibility belongs to all of us. Do not think that this work I am doing is easy. It needs commitment,” Ruto said.
He then offered a candid glimpse into the personal sacrifices of his role: “I am the President. it’s 10 pm nw — what am I doing here? I would have gone to sleep by now if it were different. I would have one or two meetings and gone to sleep. But you see, if it is in your heart to change a country, we must go the extra mile.”
Addressing his audience directly, the president linked their presence to this greater purpose.
“That is why you people are sitting here today. So that we can change the country together.”
He challenged Kenyans to move beyond passive observation and actively participate in shaping a prosperous future for the nation.
