Heavy rains have wrought havoc in Nairobi and other parts of the country, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming 25 lives. The Ministry of Interior and National Administration reports that most of the fatalities occurred in Nairobi, where rivers burst their banks, sweeping away homes, businesses, and unsuspecting residents 😔.

The affected areas include Starehe and Kamukunji sub-counties, where 23 bodies have been retrieved from rivers. In Kibra sub-county, two people remain missing, and search and rescue operations are underway.
The Devastation:
- Homes and businesses have been destroyed, leaving over 800 households displaced
- Public infrastructure, including roads and bridges, has been damaged
- Major roads, such as Mombasa Road and Uhuru Highway, have been flooded, disrupting traffic
- Emergency response teams are on the ground, providing aid and support to affected residents

- Emergency response mechanisms have been activated, with teams from the Kenya Defence Forces, National Police Service, and other agencies deployed
- Search and rescue operations are ongoing, with personnel working to restore essential services

- Residents are advised to evacuate areas along riverbanks and seek safer ground
