A major fire incident in Naivasha Town has left multiple buildings destroyed in a popular entertainment area, prompting urgent emergency response and a growing crowd of onlookers as authorities scramble to establish the cause and extent of the damage.
The fire began at 2 p.m. on February 11, 2026, and it quickly spread through the Flavours entertainment zone commercial area, which created enormous smoke clouds that interrupted activities throughout the active Rift Valley town.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing bright orange flames engulfing a cluster of buildings before firefighters and police arrived at the scene, sparking concerns about public safety and the potential for casualties. The fire developed with extreme speed and intense power, which required all nearby people to evacuate their current locations for protection against the advancing flames.
Mountain View Member of County Assembly Alex Mbugua confirmed the incident by phone, underscoring the severity of the situation and the scale of loss as the fire advanced through portions of the entertainment district.
The blaze spread through the buildings that local residents and visiting tourists used as common spaces, which resulted in major commercial interruptions throughout the town.
Firefighters continued to fight the fire at the time of publication because it remained uncertain whether they had completely controlled the fire. Emergency officials have not yet released information about potential injuries or the estimated financial impact of the destroyed properties, and efforts to determine the origin of the blaze are underway.
The residents of the area posted videos on social media that showed the chaotic scene where thick grey smoke rose into the air and intense heat spread through the streets, attracting people who wanted to see the hazardous areas that police had tried to keep secure. The observers observed multiple stores’ building structures, which nearly caught fire because the fire spread to their vicinity.
The fire investigators, together with the police authorities, will conduct a formal investigation to determine the incident’s cause, which includes electrical faults and accidental ignition as potential fire sources. Local leaders have pledged to update the public once more detailed assessments are completed.
