Women Barred From Church Over Short Skirts and Trousers

While the Good Book in Romans 10:9-10 encourages individuals to “come as you are” and accept salvation, these verses appear to be overlooked in a church located in a region of Kisii.

A group of young people who attended a prayer gathering at a church in Mugirango South, Kisii County, were refused entry after being criticized by clergy for what they deemed inappropriate attire.

The women who visited St Peter and Paul Parish Etago on Thursday were asked to leave the premises, with cleric Benjamin Ndemo stating that their dressing style was not in line with the church’s traditions.

The prayer gathering was organized for the youth and aimed, among other objectives, to impart Biblical teachings on how to live properly.

“It is inappropriate to dress indecently. There are specific standards that both men and women should adhere to, including how they present themselves through their clothing,” he stated.
