This is after a feature was aired by NTV, which showed several signboards in Baringo County showing schools that did not physically exist.
Some of the schools highlighted included Kaptiony Girls High School and Kampi Nyasi Secondary School whose signboards sit on an expansive grazing area with overgrown shrubs.
Further, another photo was shared, indicating President Ruto received 37,635 votes in Baringo North Constituency out of 50,237 votes cast.
Interestingly, the photo showed that the valid votes cast were 36,630 votes, raising questions over the credibility of the tally.
A spot-check by wamuzinews.co.ke on the IEBC portal showed that Kaptiony Girls High School was not registered as a polling station.
IEBC only registered Kaptiony Primary School in Baringo North but not Kaptiony Girls High School.
Kaptiony Primary School is a registered mixed-day and boarding primary school in Baringo.
A doctored image of the IEBC portal shared online shows five polling stations in Barwessa Ward including Ayatya Primary School, Bartogo Primary School, Barwessa Primary School, Kaptiony Girls High School, and Chemura Primary School.
However, a quick check reveals that Chebukar Primary School was altered to read Kaptiony Girls High School.
The speculations had elicited a debate on social media with Azimio proponents claiming that they were dealt a raw deal in the 2022 polls.
In the 2022 General Election, Ruto received 175,170 votes in Baringo County, indicating 80.69 percent of the total.
Azimio’s Raila Odinga followed with 41,227 votes, George Wajackoyah (474), and Waihiga David Mwaure (220).
