Two motorcycle-riding bandits steal a cell phone, but they drop a weapon in the drama that occurred in Parklands.

Drama ensued at Parklands, Nairobi, after suspected robbers, riding on a motorbike, snatched a mobile phone from a pedestrian.

It all started on Sunday, July 21 afternoon when a pedestrian was walking along Kolobot Road. Suddenly, two robbery suspects on the motorbike approached, and before knowing it, the pillion passenger grabbed the pedestrian’s mobile phone.

However, the said pedestrian was not prepared to let go, putting up a fight by grabbing the pillion passengers jacket.

In the ensuing melee, the suspect dropped a pistol before they managed to speed off towards Murang’a Road.

Upon seeing the firearm, the victim screamed, catching the attention of police officers on patrol. They arrived at the scene and secured the gun.

Police have since launched investigations into the incident, starting with a ballistic analysis to ascertain if the gun has been used to commit other crimes.

The officers are currently in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from different locations in the area to try and trace the movements of the criminals.
