Tragic Accident Claims Lives of School Children in Kitui.

Six school children were tragically killed by a speeding hit-and-run vehicle near Kyoani market in Ikutha, along the Kitui-Kibwezi road.

The victims included two Form Three girls, one Form One girl, and three primary school pupils. The identities of the students were confirmed by local residents, with three of the victims being from the same family.

According to the first police report, the children were walking from their school. A Toyota Probox car veered off the road and hit them. The driver fled the scene but was later arrested and the vehicle impounded. The driver has been detained pending investigations into the cause of the accident.
