A devastating tragedy struck in Uganda as two Kenyan politicians lost their lives in a horrific road accident along the Moroto-Napak highway. The deadly crash, which claimed a total of four lives, unfolded at Tapaach, leaving behind a wreckage of twisted metal and shattered dreams.
The victims, identified as Philemon Lotudo, Elijah Lopuke, Jackson Kariwoi, and Ben Ikong, were traveling in a government-affiliated SUV that was left mangled beyond recognition. West Pokot County Commissioner Khaliff Abdullahi confirmed the tragedy, stating that investigations are underway to uncover the exact cause of the fatal accident. Meanwhile, Kenyan and Ugandan authorities swiftly coordinated to repatriate the bodies, which now lie at Cherangany Mortuary in Kitale.
Disturbingly, the politicians were part of a high-profile delegation accompanying Pokot South MP David Pkosing on a cross-border mission between Kenya and Uganda. While fate claimed the lives of some, Sook Ward MCA Martin Komongiro miraculously survived the crash and has been airlifted to Eldoret for urgent specialized treatment.
