Terror on Kenyan Roads — Police Vehicle Blown Apart in Dadaab Bomb Attack!

In a harrowing turn of events early Thursday morning, what started as a routine patrol turned into a nightmare when a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) ripped through a police vehicle in Daadab, Garissa County. The attack — believed to be the work of suspected militants — left a trail of wreckage but, shockingly, all three officers inside the vehicle miraculously survived without injuries!

Garissa County Commissioner Naftali Koojo confirmed the explosion occurred around 6:00 AM, stating security teams are now on high alert following a surge in terror-linked activities across the volatile northeastern region.

The Setup
Disturbing visuals obtained exclusively by Wamuzinews.co.ke show the IED was deliberately buried in a freshly dug hole along the roadside — a chilling sign of calculated intent to kill.

Civilians Caught in the Crossfire
Tragically, two innocent civilians hitching a ride in the police Land Cruiser were injured in the blast and were swiftly rushed to the hospital alongside the officers for medical checks.

Vehicle Shredded
The armored police Land Cruiser wasn’t spared. Its bumpers, lights, siren, and hood were blown off, leaving it badly mangled. Surprisingly, the tires remained intact — a grim reminder of just how close the vehicle came to total destruction.

No Group Has Claimed Responsibility Yet
So far, no militant faction has stepped forward to claim responsibility for this attack, even as the government ramps up emergency patrols and security deployments throughout the region.

A Region Under Siege
Northeastern Kenya continues to battle the shadow of terrorism. In March, nine officers were wounded by a roadside bomb during a routine patrol. Just months earlier in December 2023, officers lost their lives on the same Dadaab-Garissa road to a similar IED ambush. And in a heart-wrenching 2019 incident, 11 GSU officers were killed in another roadside explosion near the Kenya-Somalia border.

This latest attack is yet another disturbing chapter in a region long plagued by extremism — and a stark warning that the war against terror is far from over.
