Several KCSE Students Arrested After Chaos Erupts at Samoei Boys High School.

In a dramatic enforcement action, police have arrested multiple students from Koitalel Samoei Boys High School following unrest linked to the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) period.

The arrests on Wednesday have raised serious concerns about exam integrity and student conduct.According to law enforcement officials, the detained students are suspected of participating in demonstrations inside school grounds.

The protest, which began Tuesday evening, reportedly involved large numbers of form four students. Officers say they responded to reports of “unruly behaviour” that included shouting, property damage, and intimidation of fellow learners.

The arrested students were escorted to a nearby police station, where detectives are interrogating them on charges that may include incitement, vandalism, and disruption of national examinations.

Authorities haven’t confirmed whether the unrest is directly tied to exam-related disputes, but the timing raises eyebrows – KCSE is currently underway across the country.School administrators have reportedly launched an internal investigation and vowed to cooperate fully with investigators.

Local education officials have also expressed alarm, warning that any disruption during KCSE could jeopardize the academic futures of all candidates in the school. The incident has revived broader fears about exam malpractice in Nandi County.

Less than a year ago, teachers from the same school were implicated in a probe over suspected KCSE exam fraud. That scandal, which saw several educators arrested, damaged the school’s reputation and heightened scrutiny on student behavior. As investigations continue, students and parents are demanding clarity.

Many want to know whether the unrest was a protest against alleged unfair treatment by school authorities, or a direct challenge to exam oversight. For now, the mood at Samoei Boys is tense and uncertain.

The coming days will be critical: will the school recover its stability, or will the KCSE crisis spiral into a larger accountability and disciplinary nightmare?
