Police Boss Fails to Appear in Court Over Abducted Trio.

Acting Police Inspector-General Gilbert Masengeli did not show up in court to discuss the disappearance of three individuals. The missing individuals include two Kitengela brothers.

Individuals suspected to be police officers allegedly abducted them. The missing men, Jamil Longton Hashim, Aslam Longton, and activist Bob Michemi Njagi, were taken on August 19, 2024.

They were abducted after their participation in a talk show on national affairs and devolution.

Despite the court session, a State lawyer informed that Masengeli was absent due to official duties. The court directed the Police IG’s office to cooperate in the matter.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has urged Justice Lawrence Mugambi to issue an arrest order against Masengeli for contempt.

The situation continues to unfold, with further developments expected.
