Orengo Sounds Alarm—Claims Plot to Rig 2027 Elections, Warns of National Crisis!

In a fiery address that sent shockwaves through Siaya County, Governor James Orengo launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto’s government, accusing it of secretly scheming to rig the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on April 30 during the launch of the Boro Maternity Facility in Central Alego, Orengo declared that the current regime is actively undermining the independence of the IEBC, warning that if unchecked, Kenya could be headed for one of its most compromised elections in history.
“Since 2002, we haven’t had a genuinely free and fair election. The system is being hijacked—again,” Orengo thundered. “If IEBC remains a puppet, manipulated from the shadows, democracy will collapse.”

The Governor, known for his unwavering loyalty to Raila Odinga, also blasted the judicial system, alleging a coordinated plan to weaken the Supreme Court’s authority.
Visibly agitated, Orengo vowed he would not sit back and watch the country fall apart. “If defending the Constitution means returning to jail or leading mass protests, so be it! Kenya is sliding into a dangerous abyss,” he warned.
He further suggested that Raila Odinga’s past election defeats were not due to lack of support but were orchestrated through systemic election rigging—forcing Raila into “power-sharing deals with no real change.”
Despite the heat, Raila recently backed Orengo, clarifying that his current engagement with Ruto is based solely on an MoU—not political alliance.
