A chilling mystery has gripped Machakos as Muthwani MCA Domnic Maitha has mysteriously disappeared, leaving his family and supporters in a state of panic.
According to distraught relatives, Maitha was last seen at the Machakos County Assembly on Monday, March 24, but never made it back home. His wife, Juliet Ngare, and his father, John Maitha, rushed to file a missing person’s report at Machakos Police Station on Tuesday, confirming that he had seemingly vanished without a trace.
Police sources reveal that Maitha’s phones have been switched off, and his current whereabouts remain unknown. The missing person’s case was formally recorded under OB NO: 49/25/3/25 at 3:04 PM on Tuesday.
Last Contact and Mysterious Silence

Ngare revealed that her husband left home early Monday morning, stopping briefly at their Kaloleni residence in Machakos sub-county before heading to the County Assembly. That evening, they spoke over the phone at 10:30 PM, and Maitha assured her he was still in Machakos and planned to spend the night at their village home. But when she tried calling him the next morning at 9:00 AM, all his phones were suspiciously turned off.
Her growing unease deepened when a fellow MCA called, also unable to reach Maitha on any of his three mobile phones. Desperate for answers, Ngare contacted relatives in the village, only to hear the shocking revelation—her husband never arrived home that night.
Family in Distress, Police on High Alert
“This is beyond unusual. He never ignores my calls—not even for an hour. Now it’s been an entire day, and all three of his phones are off. Something is terribly wrong,” a visibly shaken Ngare told reporters outside the police station.
Maitha’s father, John Maitha, also expressed deep concern, revealing that his son had promised to return home but never did. “Where did he go? Who saw him last? I want my son back—alive and safe,” he pleaded.
The sudden and unexplained disappearance of the MCA has sparked widespread fear, with supporters and political figures demanding immediate action. Police investigations are underway, but the mystery of Maitha’s vanishing act remains unsolved.
