Night fire in Langata leaves 200 homes destroyed
No injuries were reported during the incident.
This is not the first fire occurrence in the area.
In July last year, a blaze triggered by an electrical fault destroyed numerous structures, leaving many homeless.
On Friday night, a fire at Soweto Highrise ward in Langata, Nairobi County, affected at least 200 families.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it reportedly engulfed several residential houses and shops.
No casualties were reported during the incident.
Langata MP Phelix Odiwuor shared a video of the fire and noted that it was later controlled by city firefighters.
“The fire was contained, and everyone is safe. Pray for Langata as we start the process of rebuilding Soweto,” he stated.
This is not the first instance of a fire in the region.
Last July, an electrical fault ignited a blaze that destroyed multiple structures, displacing many.
Several individuals sustained injuries as locals rushed to their homes to retrieve belongings.
Security officers have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
