The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened applications for the September 2025 intake into Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).
In a statement on X, KUCCPS announced that prospective students can now apply through the student portal starting March 6.
“The portal is now open for applications to Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) for the September 2025 intake,” the statement reads.

Interested candidates have until March 20 to submit their applications, providing a two-week window to apply for available slots in diploma programs for Primary and Secondary Teacher Education. However, KUCCPS did not specify the number of available positions.
This announcement coincides with the Teachers Service Commission’s (TSC) launch of its 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, which anticipates hiring 211,870 teachers over five years.
Additionally, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba recently confirmed that university placement applications for September 2025 will commence in March.
“As per the annual placement schedule, KUCCPS will open the university placement portal in March 2025 for students to apply for their preferred courses,” Ogamba stated.
Addressing concerns over changes to university admission cut-off points, Ogamba reassured that the government has not reintroduced strict entry thresholds.
He affirmed that all 246,391 students who met the minimum requirement of a C+ in the 2024 KCSE exams qualify for direct university admission.
“If all these candidates enroll, the government estimates an annual funding requirement of Ksh25.85 billion, amounting to Ksh100 billion over four years,” he added.
