Germany has agreed to welcome 250,000 skilled and semi-skilled Kenyan workers through a labor mobility partnership agreement signed with Kenya.

President William Ruto emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring a corruption-free process. He also emphasized only allowing licensed recruiting agents to run in the program.

The President stated that those who violate the labor agreement regulations will face appropriate consequences.

President Ruto made these remarks during roundtable consultations with Kenyan and Germany firms in Berlin, Germany. The goal is to ease a seamless process for Kenyan workers seeking employment opportunities in Germany.

The government aims to prevent unlicensed individuals from engaging in recruitment activities. It also seeks to make sure that the program benefits the targeted individuals without corruption.

The labor deal signed between Kenya and Germany includes provisions for easing immigration laws. These laws will allow Kenyans to work in the country.

Additionally, temporary residence permits be extended for Kenyan workers with approved jobs. Long-term visas will be issued for studying or vocational training in Germany.

The agreement aims to create controlled and targeted labor migration opportunities for Kenyan workers in Europe’s largest economy.
