A tragic incident occurred at Kibirigwi Girls Secondary School in Ndia, Kirinyaga. A gang attacked the school, resulting in the death of a night guard. The assailants managed to enter the school compound through the back gate.
They tied up three night guards and the deputy principal. They then stole valuables and the deputy principal’s vehicle. The police are now investigating the incident and are actively searching for the perpetrators.
Kirinyaga County Commissioner Hussein Hallosow confirmed the details of the attack during a visit to the school. He was accompanied by Kirinyaga Police Commander Andrew Naibei.
The commissioner reassured parents that learning activities were continuing despite the incident. Unfortunately, the night guard succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital, highlighting the severity of the attack.
One of the surviving night guards, Michael Kimani, recounted his harrowing experience, stating that he narrowly escaped death. He described how he was tied up in the deputy principal’s office.
The gang stole their phones and the vehicle. The emotional impact of the incident was clear, especially with the news of the guard’s death weighing heavily on him.
No arrests have been made as of now. But, a team of detectives is on the case. They are working to track down the gang responsible for this violent crime.
