Tame Your Attack Dogs Before Advising Parents on Discipline – Gachagua Criticizes Ruto
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has admonished President William Ruto for his comments regarding child-rearing practices.
Speaking in Dandora, Embakasi North Constituency, Nairobi, on Sunday, Gachagua accused Ruto of neglecting the detrimental impact of his allies’ abusive language on children.
This statement follows Ruto’s urging for parents to take greater responsibility in raising their children, emphasizing that many look to the government to fulfill their parental duties.
Gachagua remarked, “Before criticizing us for not raising our children properly, focus on removing the log from your own eye. ” He further stated, “The leaders surrounding you use abusive language and are teaching it to our children. ”
He underscored that while Ruto has held parents accountable for their children’s upbringing, the behavior of those in his proximity must also be scrutinized.
“You are the president; I urge you to set a better example,” Gachagua emphasized. “You associate with individuals who teach our children inappropriate language, resulting in their learned behavior. ”
While acknowledging the role of parents in improving child-rearing, Gachagua insisted that the conduct of the president’s associates should not be overlooked
