Outspoken whistleblower Nelson Amenya has reemerged with explosive claims of yet another shadowy airport deal — this time involving a mysterious company from Dubai.
Amenya, who once rocked the country with his exposé on the controversial JKIA-Adani saga, now warns that the Kenyan government is quietly preparing to surrender control of a strategic airport to foreign interests — and worse, use taxpayers as collateral.
“They want to hand over our airport — possibly to Adani again — and back the deal with Kenya’s national balance sheet,” Amenya declared in a jaw-dropping disclosure.
He didn’t name the Dubai-based company directly, but heavily hinted that Adani Group, already tainted by a corruption scandal and a previously canceled airport takeover attempt, might be pulling strings behind the scenes once more.
But what’s really raising eyebrows? Amenya claims this secretive agreement includes a sovereign guarantee, meaning Kenyan taxpayers could be on the hook if things go south.
“If this is such a sound investment, why do they need a guarantee from struggling Kenyans?” Amenya challenged.
This bombshell arrives just days after Kenya inked a massive Ksh193 billion loan deal with the UAE, reportedly at a steep 8.2% interest rate — prompting critics to question whether the loan and the alleged airport deal are connected.
Amenya is no stranger to shaking the system. In 2024, he leaked confidential documents exposing the government’s attempt to quietly lease Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to Adani Airport Holdings, triggering national outrage and ultimately forcing President Ruto to cancel the deal.
That cancellation came hours after Adani officials were indicted in a U.S. court over a Ksh32 billion corruption scandal — a move seen as damage control amid rising public pressure.
Now, with fresh allegations and a new international player in the mix, Kenya may be headed for another airport firestorm.
