Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has blown the lid off what he describes as political sabotage and behind-the-scenes power games that led to his dramatic ousting as Secretary General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Speaking during a live interview on Spice FM Thursday morning, Malala made sensational claims that his fallout with President William Ruto began when he refused to back a secret plan to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The ex-SG revealed he was pressured to endorse the motion – an act he believed would detonate the Kenya Kwanza coalition from within.“I told the President flat-out – removing Gachagua would fracture the party and the government,” Malala declared.

“Instead of being heard, I was labeled an enemy. That’s when the knives came out.”Even more shocking, Malala revealed that Ruto allegedly tried to sneak in two new deputy party leaders to slowly erode Gachagua’s influence – a calculated move Malala claims he strongly opposed.
“I warned them – this would shake the very foundation of UDA. But they ignored me. My resistance sealed my fate,” he lamented. But the bombshells didn’t stop there.Malala turned up the heat on President Ruto, accusing him of personally orchestrating a crackdown on Butere Girls High School over their powerful play “Echoes of War”.
The former senator claims the President was directly behind the move that barred the students from performing at the national level.“This is a paranoid regime,” Malala charged.
“The President is haunted – by what he’s done, what he’s doing, and what he plans next. He’s suppressing voices that hold up a mirror to his leadership.”He dismissed the government’s claims that the school play promoted immoral themes: “There was no pedophile.
No drug dealer. Just truth. That’s what scared them.”The revelations have sent shockwaves through the political arena, painting a picture of a ruling party teetering on the edge of internal chaos and political paranoia. As questions mount, one thing is clear – this story is far from over.
