In a strategy paper obtained by the Star, Raila envisions a unified Africa characterized by peace, prosperity, and sustainable advancement.
He is pledging to offer inclusive leadership. He aims to fulfill the aspirations of the African people. These aspirations are outlined in the African Union Agenda 2063.
The upcoming official launch of Raila’s campaign by President William Ruto sets the stage for a continent-wide campaign. Raila competes against candidates like Mohamoud Youssouf from Djibouti. He also competes against Anil Gayan from Mauritius and Richard Randriamandrato from Madagascar for the coveted position.
The blueprint presented by the former Prime Minister emphasizes key interventions to kickstart the continent’s economy. It aims to promote intra-African trade, financial autonomy, gender equality, agricultural modernization, and climate action.
Additionally, Raila vows to champion continental integration, peace, and stability as foundational elements for sustainable socio-economic growth in Africa.
His agenda includes advocating for policies that foster job creation, poverty reduction, and improved livelihoods. He is also pushing for increased intra-African trade through the establishment of a common market. Additionally, he aims for the removal of trade barriers within the continent.
Furthermore, Raila pledges to combat gender discrimination. He promises to promote agricultural advancement. He will focus on climate-conscious investments to secure a prosperous future for Africa.
Raila focuses on resolving longstanding conflicts. He promotes peace as a catalyst for development. Raila plans to collaborate with Regional Economic Communities to enhance unity and prosperity on the continent.
His rigorous schedule includes engagements in Dakar, Senegal. It also includes the United Nations General Assembly in New York. It also includes the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa summit in Bujumbura. He is attending these and other key events to garner support for his AUC chairmanship bid.
