Up until her death, the late Sinjo was a staunch member of the Raila-led party. The party, in its statement revealed that Sinjo passed away while attending a farmers’ training forum in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
In the official statement, ODM commiserated with the family of the deceased noting that her loyalty to ODM was unparalleled.
“We commiserate with the family of Evelyn Sinjo, our loyal member. We pray for the family during this difficult time,” read the tweet.
In May this year, ODM lost a key supporter from the Coast. Fatuma Juma Meri passed away after a short illness on Sunday at Pwani Hospital where she was receiving treatment.
Before her demise, Fatuma was the County Office Administrator of ODM party in Kwale. She was actively involved in the affairs of women spearheading ODM League Msambweni Branch.
Sinjo’s death comes barely a year after ODM yet lost one of its co-founders, Joseph Misoi who passed on in 2023.
Misoi who was the longest-serving member of the National Elections Board of the party served as a former Eldoret South Member of Parliament.
In the same year, ODM also lost Simeon Amukhula who served as a party official stationed in Navakholo, Kakamega County.
Similarly in November, 2023, the party was thrown into a mourning mood after the demise of Godliver Omondi, a nominated MCA Kholera Ward, Mutungu Constituency in Kakamega County.
Godliver passed away while receiving treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Kisumu.
