Court Crushes Wetangula’s Bid to Block Azimio’s Majority Status!

In a dramatic legal showdown, the Court of Appeal has shut down Speaker Moses Wetangula’s desperate attempt to overturn a High Court decision that handed Azimio the majority in the National Assembly. This ruling delivers a major blow to Wetangula, who argued that the decision had thrown parliamentary operations into chaos. But the judges weren’t convinced—they found zero evidence that legislative functions had been derailed.

“The National Assembly has continued to function, albeit with some turbulence,” the judges stated, effectively dismissing Wetangula’s claims.

The court went even further, refusing to issue a stay order, arguing that doing so would be a premature endorsement of the Speaker’s disputed ruling from February 12, 2025. The legal bombshell didn’t end there—concerns that Wetangula could face contempt of court charges were brushed aside, with the judges making it clear that fear of embarrassment or inconvenience is no excuse to halt legal proceedings.

With this verdict, the battle over who truly controls the National Assembly rages on, setting the stage for an even fiercer political and legal war!
