Bungoma Girl Fatally Beaten by Father Over D+ Grade Buried; Family Falsely Claimed Death Due to Fainting
Esther Nasimiyu, a 23-year-old, has been buried following her death from severe injuries inflicted by her father, Maurice Toto, who attacked her with a blunt object after learning she scored a D+ in KCSE.
Her body was found in her bedroom, and the family falsely claimed in the eulogy that she died from fainting, adding that chronic high blood pressure contributed to her demise.
Toto remains in custody under suspicion of murder, despite the family’s misleading statements about the cause of death, which garnered significant media attention.
