A motorbike-riding suspect connected to phone-snatching was arrested by detectives

A notorious gang associate, known for stealing mobile phones from unsuspecting victims using a motorcycle in Bamburi, Nyali, and Kadzandani, has been arrested by detectives from the Mombasa Regional Headquarters.

Detectives apprehended Ian Mahad, also known as Suleiman, at a motorcycle shop in Mombasa’s central business district while he was buying a new bike. This followed an incident where locals set his previous motorcycle ablaze during his theft spree on Saturday.

The operation expanded to gang members hiding near Kadzandani Primary School, resulting in the recovery of a motorcycle (registration number KMGG 228X Honda), an Oppo mobile phone, and additional items.

Other accomplices, however, managed to escape. The suspect is currently in police custody undergoing processing before arraignment, as detectives continue searching for the remaining fugitives.
