Safaricom Introduces New M-Pesa Offerings.

Safaricom has announced changes to its M-Pesa offerings, reducing the least amount for purchasing airtime from Sh5 to Sh1.

The new service was rolled out on Monday, with users receiving notifications about the update. Additionally, Safaricom will now charge a fee of Sh0.50 for reverse calls made more than twice a day within its network.

The charge for reverse calls aims to discourage misuse of the service. This is especially important when users have enough airtime. Safaricom clarified that the fee applies after the first two free reverse call requests in a day.

The company is implementing these changes to enhance service efficiency and prevent unnecessary usage of resources.

In other news, Safaricom has urged small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to leverage digital technology for business growth. The company highlighted that rapid technological advancements can hinder the progress of micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Safaricom also emerged as one of Kenya’s most admired brands in a recent poll. Tusker was also highly admired. Meanwhile, Equity Bank, KCB, and Co-operative Bank led in the financial services sector.

As part of its commitment to providing innovative services, Safaricom has denied rumors. The rumors suggested canceling payments for Starlink Internet via M-Pesa.

The company clarified that the choice is still available and encouraged customers to reach out in case of any challenges. Safaricom continues to focus on enhancing its offerings and maintaining its position as a leading telecommunications service provider in Kenya.
