Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has called upon the Gen Zs to push for the drafting of a new Finance Bill.
Gathoni Wamuchomba, a member of parliament for Githunguri, has urged Generation Z to push for the creation of a new Finance Bill. Wamuchomba said in an interview that this was the way to get money to keep important institutions like the IEBC going.
She mentioned that this would establish a framework in the event that members of parliament are recalled or even President William Ruto resigns, as the Gen Zs are demanding.
“If Generation Z wants to change, they should make it a priority for Parliament to have means and a timetable for raising funds for the IEBC and vetting the IEBC selection panel.
She added, “They should also make sure the withdrawn Finance Bill is changed to fund the IEBC.” The MP claims that members of any constituent can recall their MPs and vote for a new one through the appropriate structures when the IEBC is reconstituted to avoid leaving constituencies without a leader.
Wamuchomba repeated that following the right strategies to review and choose new pioneers would save Kenyans from plummeting into rebellion and turmoil as seen in different countries.
Ruto pulled out the dubious Finance Bill 2024, after cross country fights coordinated by the adolescent. Kenyans wanted the bill to be withdrawn, not changed.
The rebel UDA MP also stressed that she was in favor of the ongoing protests to ensure that Kenya moves in the right direction.
